Why I made this
The book I wish someone had handed me.
I know what it feels like to dim yourself—to hear something cruel and let it linger, or to slowly turn down the volume on the parts of you that once shone the brightest.
But I also know what it feels like to be reminded — sometimes by a friend, sometimes by a stranger — that those parts are still there. That your colors have always been there. And that the world is genuinely better when you let them shine.
In The World Needs Your Colors, Chroma has started to hide the colorful parts of herself. Nibby is the friend who reminds her that color is still all around her and that her own colors are still there, too. This book is my way of passing that reminder forward, especially to kids and queer people who may need to hear it most, but also to any adult who has been carrying those feelings quietly.
